Join Carole at Circle of Friends Holiday Boutique

Everyone’s welcome to join me this weekend for the Circle of Friends Holiday Boutique. Pottery, paintings, jewelry, crafts and other handmade items will be featured Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16-17 at the Spotted Frog Bookstore in Park City’s Redstone Village Center at Kimball’s Junction.

The Circle of Friends is a unique group of local artists and friends who have inspired each other through their friendship, camaraderie and celebration of talent for the past five years. This is the first time the boutique has been open to the public.

“Our Circle of Friends has been inspirational for all of us for many years as friends and artists,” said fiber artist Carole Duh. “We’re excited to now share our work with the public at the Circle of Friends Holiday Boutique at the Spotted Frog.”

The Boutique is open from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday and from 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Saturday.

The featured artists include:

Michal Patten is a member of the Park City Professional Artists Association; (PCPAA) who will feature organically inspired handmade jewelry in fine silver, semi-precious gemstones and pearls. Patten uses locally found leaves and other elements of nature.

Juanita Marshall, a member of PCPAAand a coop artist at Artworks in Park City, offers individually handcrafted ceramic and pottery pieces, decorative trays, wine stands, platters and more.

Candace Krukiel of Salt Lake City offers beautifully handcrafted knitwear. Her shawls, scarves and other accessories are both luxurious and practical.

Sue Galusha, a longstanding PCPAA member, is a well-established painter and visual arts teacher at Park City High School. She will present a variety of paintings in both oils and watercolors suitable for private and public spaces including whimsical kitchenscapes and local landscapes.

of Do Dads for You! offers hand knit, felted, beaded and bedecked felted flowers, baby caps, party bags, felted pouches and delightful children’s crayon bags. Her work is featured in several local galleries and stores.

The Circle of Friends first began as an outlet for the artists to share their obsessions with each other. The group began selling to other friends for the holidays, who soon invited other friends into the circle.

“What we feel is unique about our group of artists is that our sole marketing has been to our friends,” added Duh. “That group or circle of friends has grown through the years to the point that we now want to add the public to our circle.”

“We’re thrilled to host the Circle of Friends Holiday Boutique here at Spotted Frog,” said Proprietress Karen Dallett. “Supporting local artists is very important for us and I really enjoy the unique aspect of this group of artists that is based on friendship. I hope that this can help Park City’s art community to grow.”
