It was a white Christmas, and then some, as snowfall after snowfall blanketed Park City for the holidays. It was lonely as Zach headed back to Wisconsin for two weeks and Tom and Carole had the holiday to themselves! Carole was busy with basket making leading up to the big day, while Tom helped by delivering beautiful Rocky Mountain Baskets to happy customers around town. We took in Christmas mass at the Eccles Center, enjoying the wonderful voice of our friend Linda, a former professional opera singer. We did our gift exchange on Christmas eve and watched little Kestan open his gifts on iChat live from Kansas City on Christmas morning. Christmas dinner was spectacular! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner of osso bucco and risotto Milanese, courtesy of Mario Batali and some fabulous veal shanks from Wild Oats. Friday, we’re off on a holiday adventure – taking the new Frontrunner train to Ogden, enjoying a dinner at Roosters and spending the night.
It’s a white Christmas, and then some, here in Park City. We’re excited to have our daughter Erin with us for a couple weeks. And we were able to spend Christmas Eve with Zachary, Hannah and Naomi. For Carole, it’s time off from the busy basket season and for Tom, it’s time for skiing. Here’s some video and pix to share some of our holiday experiences.
It was a banner year for Santas at The Canyons’ annual Santa Skis Free Day Dec. 16. After a somewhat slow 2006 event, 30 Santas turned out to make a few turns, pose for pictures and freak out people all over the mountain. Fun was had by all.
Yes, it’s that time again. Saturday (Dec. 15) is the traditional Santa Skis Free Day at The Canyons. Show up at the base area ticket booth between 8:00-9:00 a.m. Saturday in a FULL Santa suit, and you’ll get a free ticket. It’s always fun to get the Santa’s together.
